“Your Wedding Morning Checklist: Keep Calm and Get Married”
19/11/2025

Okay, stop for just one second and breathe. Really breathe. It’s happening. Your wedding day is actually here. I remember my own wedding morning – it’s this wild mix of pure joy and sheer panic, where your mind is racing with a hundred tiny questions. After helping so many friends get through theirs, I can tell you the one thing that truly saves the day: a simple plan. Not a complicated military operation, just a straightforward list that lets you actually soak in every single moment, instead of just surviving it.
Think of this as a little note from a friend. I’m that mate who’s been in your shoes, and I’ve put together this checklist just for you, to make sure your morning is as joyful and chill as it possibly can be.
First Up: The Calm Before the Fun Really Kicks Off (This Means Breakfast!)
☐ Honestly, Just Eat Something.
I get it, your stomach is probably doing gymnastics. But listen to me – you have to eat. You’re going to be on your feet all day, chatting, hugging, and hopefully dancing your socks off. You don’t need a huge fry-up, just graze on something that will stick with you. A bit of toast, some banana, a yoghurt – anything to make sure you aren’t the one making a dramatic faint at the altar! I once saw a groom turn a worrying shade of pale because he skipped breakfast. Don’t be that guy.
☐ Water is Your New Best Friend.
Have a big bottle of water with you and just keep sipping from it all morning long. Don’t chug it, just little and often. And maybe think twice before having that third cup of coffee – too much caffeine mixed with wedding day nerves is a recipe for the jitters. If you’re feeling shaky, a calming herbal tea can work wonders.
☐ Steal Five Quiet Minutes.
Before the doorbell starts ringing and the chaos properly descends, find a quiet corner. If you’re not with your partner, send them a quick text or give them a call. Just a simple “Thinking of you” or “Can’t wait to see you later.” It’s a small thing, but it connects you back to the real reason for all this madness and sets the most beautiful, loving tone for the entire day. It’s that little flutter in your chest that reminds you what this is all about
The “Look The Part” Section
☐ Do Your Pre-Arrival Prep.
If you’re getting professional hair and makeup done, they’ll have a schedule. Stick to it. A top tip? Wear a button-down shirt (not a pullover!) so you don’t ruin your hair and makeup when it’s time to change.
☐ Get Dressed (With Help!).
Don’t try to do this alone. Get your Maid of Honour or one of your parents to get you into the dress or suit. It is also a special moment for them. Make sure that the minor details are impeccable – ties straight, veil in place, shoes on.
☐ The All-Important Accessories.
Keep your wedding rings somewhere very safe and appoint one responsible person (such as the Best Man) to be their guardian. And do not leave out other jewellery, your watch, and your perfume or cologne.
The “Don’t Forget the Stuff!” Checklist
This is where most of the panic happens. Let’s avoid that.
☐ The “Vow” Check.
If you’ve written your own vows, please don’t leave them on the printer! Print two copies, and give one to your Best Man to hold, just in case.
☐ The Marriage Essentials.
This is the legal stuff. Ensure your Best Man has the marriage license and any other required documents. He’s in charge of getting it to the venue and the officiant.
☐ The Rings (Yes, Again!).
A quick reminder because it’s so important. Best Man, rings. Best Man, rings.
☐ Payment Envelopes.
If you’re settling up with any vendors on the day (like the officiant or musicians), have the cash or cheques ready in clearly labelled envelopes. Give this job to a trusted parent or your Maid of Honour so you don’t have to think about it.
The “Logistical Lifesavers”
☐ Confirm Your Wedding Car Hire Timeline.
This is a big one. Give your wedding car hire company a quick call or check the confirmation text. Confirm the pickup time and address. A good wedding car hire service will be in touch with you, but a quick check-in gives you total peace of mind. Make sure the chauffeur has the correct addresses for both the ceremony and the reception.
☐ Designate a Point Person.
You should not be the one who will receive the calls of the florist, the DJ, and the venue coordinator when you are busy trying to put your dress. Provide a reliable contact (such as your wedding planner, or an extremely organised member of your family) with a list of contacts of the vendors, and leave the last-minute inquiries to them.
☐ Pack an “Emergency Kit”.
A little bag or box, with safety pins, stain remover wipes, plasters, sewing set, breath mints, few tissues. Hand over to a bridesmaid or a groomsman to take care of.
The Final Countdown
☐ Do a Final Personal Check.
Phone, keys, wallet? Check. Vows and rings with the Best Man? Check. You’re good to go.
☐ Take Some “Getting Ready” Photos.
These are some of the most candid and fun photos of the day. Relax and enjoy this time with your closest friends and family.
☐ A Moment of Gratitude.
Look around at the people who have gathered to help you get ready. Give them a hug. Thank them. This moment is about love, and it starts right here.
☐ Get Ready for Your Grand Entrance.
When your wedding car hire Enfield chauffeur arrives, they’ll help ensure everything is smooth. Take a deep breath, look in the mirror, and give yourself a huge smile. This is it. You’re about to go and marry your favourite person.
You’ve planned, you’ve prepared, and you’ve got this. Now, go have the most incredible day. It will be perfect because it’s yours.
